Concept: Developing a font based off the work of a BSAF artist
SNARL, ie. Nozzel Finger
In the development of this project, artists such as Meks, Julia Townsend and Basix were inspiring with their attention to line and shape. Ultimately, we chose to look at the artist Snarl, ie. Nozzle Finger on instagram, as his individual style, which is notably filled with ‘popping and interlocking semi-wild mechanised 3D letter with angular piercing embellishments, aerodynamic fins and excessive hyper-extensions’ (BSAF, 2018) posed as a challenge but one to overcome. The flow of his works is really interesting and intricate which we had ultimately wanted from our font.
